What it means to me personally to run an operation that has God at the center of it

-Read the bible everyday

-Pursuing God’s word

-St. Jerome said ignorance of Scriptures is ignorance of Christ

Psalms 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet, a light to my path

-God’s word shows us the way, prevents us from falling down, keeps us out of trouble

Luke 16:13

No one can serve two masters.  He will hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other.

-Not just referring to money as an idol, but working out, our job, our fun, reading the paper, internet, etc

-We can’t have the cares, concerns, activities, etc keeping us from growing and knowing God and our relationship

Exodus 20:5

You shall not bow down to them or worship them, for I am a jealous God

-God is jealous when someone gives to another that which rightfully belongs to him

-God is jealous when we put others as idols instead of him

-We only function properly when we give God the honor and worship he deserves

-The scriptures are filled with wisdom which allows us to learn how to become better husbands, wives, employees, employers, friends, etc. It gives us insight into how we should make decisions, treat others with what God values, what to avoid.  We become convicted.  

Insight into specific scriptural references that drive him in his business and how he uses them to direct him in his relationship with employees, customers, advertising, etc.

Philippians 2:3-4

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others

-Delighting customers, being committed to excellence, how we handle warranties/issues

-Be generous, over deliver

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be given back.

-Ultimate Question, delighted customer is 7x more loyal, bringing value to our agents and our community

-Bring our agents value

-If we can’t distinguish ourselves, no reason to use us

Whoever is to be great must be your servant and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all.

-Leadership should be characterized by serving the people and acting in their best interest

-God expects us to be faithful

-God doesn’t care about how high our sales and profits are, but our faithfulness in utilizing the gifts he has given us and realizing our potential

-Mother Theresa said God doesn’t call us to be successful, but faithful

-For many of our employees, we are their church.

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise.  Making the best use of your time because the days are evil.

-As Christians we must actively take advantage of the opportunity to do good

-Wisdom is especially needed in an age when the pathway of holiness is not always immediately clear until one reflects upon God’s word and discerns it.
